The 1980 self-titled album by Zapp (by Roger and Zapp Troutman) is one of the finest funk albums ever produced. Listen closely for the influences of Bootsy Collins (producer) and Parliament/Funkadelic. The hit single from the album, More Bounce to the Ounce, introduced the world to Roger Troutman´s trademark use of the vocorder, but the real gem of the album is the slow and sultry Be Alright. There is not a bad cut in this six song album. If you´re a fan of late 70s and early 80s funk, this selection is a "must have".
