简介: by Iván AdaimeAfter the failed duo with Joaquin Sabina and the acoustic album Euforia, Fito Páez returned with his first solo effort with new compositions in five years. It was intended to be a kind of return to form, with simpler songs, not as over produced as his material had become. But the result differs much from that fact. It's a sophisticated and lushly arranged pop album produced by Phil Ramone . In "La Casa Desaparecida" he sounds pretentious while he tries to explain Argentinean modern history in it's 11 minutes. Fito Páez is a great composer so it's no surprise that there are memorable moments like " Abre"." "Dos en la ciudad" seems to be the sour side of "El Amor Después del Amor." Apart from El Amor Después del Amor y Tercer Mundo, Abre Páez is the best album recorded by Páez in the '90s.
