It seems that to much of the classical world, improvisation is a lost art. Once a common skill, musicians are now rarely seen without a score. In her second recording for EMI Classics, Gabriela Montero has returned to this tradition, and presents 'Bach & Beyond'. Others may have used Bach's music as a starting point for improvisation - take Keith Jarrett or Jacques Loussier - but Gabriela's style is different. She uses all of her musical influences to take us on a journey through music.
