简介: Tevin Campbell was one of the baddest vocalists to ever hit the scene in the early 90's. But where is he know? Who knows. His last album came out in '99, which was 5 years ago... so I think he's finished for a while. But "Back To The World" was a hint of things to come from the 20-year-old wunderkind; he had some pretty good joints on here. It is important to note that the people behind some of the better songs on here are Rahsaan Patterson and Jamey Jaz. Rahsaan Patterson is a neo-soul artist that writes his own stuff, and he's one of the baddest vocalists in music period. The songs that he wrote on here are the more interesting ones. For instance- "Could It Be". There can't be a more catchy song than that for Tevin to sing. Jamey Jaz is a really talented producer who helms much of the musical work on Patterson's 2 solo albums. It would be cool if Tevin and Rahsaan could do an album together, being that they have similar voices. Babyface comes proper as usual with a few good ballads, such as "Tell Me Where". P. Diddy also laced Tevin with a couple of beats here, and the results are pleasing because Tevin can make anything sound good. My favorite songs on here are the title track "Back To The World" and "I Got It Bad" (both written by Patterson). "Back To The World" is undeniably catchy and Tevin's vocals couldn't be better. I think that if Tevin continued on this soulful path, he could have been big at least amongst neo-soul fans, but we have yet to see if he comes back and hits us with something else. We have been waiting a pretty long time, man.
