With "Turn On, Tune In, Cop Out" Freak Power got known in the mid-90s as part of the Acid Jazz phenomenon that emerged in England, a synthesis of soul, funk, disco, and looping beats. It is not known whether east-London based Acid Jazz Records gave the genre it´s title or vice versa, but in any case I was picking up Acid Jazz tapes in Bangkok sometime in the late 90s when I started liking it. Freak Power was among the many names that you´d see on those Acid Jazz compilations. Later I bumped into this album "Drive Thru Booty" by the ever-famous (at least in my mind) Freak Power who I´d kind of spent chapters of my life with (the tapes that is). Well, I was happy to have spent the money well - the whole cd is great. I´ve got this and the next one (More Of Everything...For Everybody), and this one I think is the best. Actually, the songs are all more or less as good as the well-known "Rush" and "
