Shoegazing（自赏摇滚）的奠基者The Jesus and Mary Chain的首张专辑，一般也认为是首张Shoegazing专辑，他们在其中演练了各种吉他噪音和梦幻般的和声，"Just Like Honey," "My Little Underground" 和 "Never Understand"都被认为是另类摇滚的经典。 　　这张专辑在滚石杂志选出的500张历代最强专辑中排名第268位。 　　第一次听到这个团的团名是看「失恋排行榜」的时候，巴瑞正在为某个听音乐的新人介绍经典专辑，他拿着The Jesus And Mary Chain的psychocandy说：「I can’t believe you don’t have it！！」，把那张唱片递给被吓坏的客人，然后做了一个被拯救的安慰表情。到底是怎样的专辑会被巴瑞说成如此神圣呢？好奇。 　　之后我去唱片行都会注意一下JAMC的踪影，而那时候是我大一下的时候，等我真的买了第一张TJAMC的专辑是我大三下的事。「21singles」，当时我正好要开始研究噪音吉他，这也正好是教科书级的乐团，所以马上就爱上了。当我现在回过头去看「21singles」，那的确是非常正点的精选集，如果有个精选集排行榜的话，这张肯定是全宇宙最棒的！ 　　The Jesus And Mary Chain是Reid兄弟的乐团，早期的时候由Reid兄弟和Bobby Gillespie（primal scream）所组成，他们秉持着像是the velvet underground的精神不断实现他们再音乐的企图，不过也跟the velvet underground的命运一样，始终不是个畅销乐团。第一张专辑（psychocandy）就被评为经典专辑，里头所运用的吉他噪音音墙的概念是现在很多乐团都会采用的元素，有人说JAMC、My Bloody Valentine和纽泽西的Yo La Tengo是现代吉他音墙的三大始祖，而事实的确是如此，虽然后进的乐团（B.R.M.C.、TheWarlock之类的新团）在录音技术上比较精致，可是这几个老乐团的作品所展现出的摇滚精神真的是无可比拟的。 　　Psychocandy is the debut studio album by Scottish alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain. It was released in November 1985 on Blanco y Negro Records. The album is considered a landmark recording: its combination of guitar feedback with traditional pop song structures proved influential on the forthcoming shoegazing genre and alternative rock in general. The band would move away from its abrasive sound with the release of their second album, 1987's Darklands.
