by William Ruhlmann 　　On this six-song EP, recorded May 22, 1982, at the Venue in London, the Blasters take on such '50s rock & roll classics as Jerry Lee Lewis's "High School Confidential" and Little Richard's "Keep a-Knockin'." The band's fidelity to their influences does not dampen their enthusiasm--they may be looking back, but they're bringing the old sound back to life. Maybe the best way to experience this band was live, not on record, at least in their early days, and this recording catches them at a fiery peak.
