摇滚青春梦 　　The Rocker follows a washed-up drummer named Fish (played by The Office's Rainn Wilson) who got screwed and dumped by his old heavy metal band, Vesuvius, who have since gone on to fame and glory. Fish joins his nephew's teen-pop garage band and hijinks ensue. For the most part, the film's soundtrack is a solo album for precocious upstate New York-based singer/songwriter Teddy Geiger, whose melodic midtempo jams place him firmly in the Daniel Powter/post American Idol/adult alternative rock scene. To be fair, Geiger is the lead singer for the fictional band ADD, who employ Fish, but the nine (out of 12) cuts that make up The Rocker's backbone, despite a half-ass stab at irony with a cover of Poison's "Nothin' But a Good Time," go in one ear and out the other like a high-school geometry lecture. The two tracks from Vesuvius, who sound like an unholy blend of Mott the Hoople, AC/DC, and Meat Loaf, offer the album's only fun moments (the opening scream on "Pompeii Nights" is pretty great), resulting in a decidedly unfunny soundtrack for a comedy.
