by Stewart Mason 　　Swedish singer/songwriter Lars Winnerbäck has a familiar rasp to his voice: particularly on upbeat tracks like the galloping opener "Farval Jupiter" and the even more manic "Oct det Blaser Genom Hallen," the resemblance to a less inebriated version of the Pogues' Shane MacGowan is undeniable. Elsewhere, Winnerbäck reverts to the guitar-and-vocal style of his early albums, investing quiet ballads like "Min Helande Trost," "Tidvis," and the dramatic waltz "Kom Hem Nu" with a gravity similar to early Tom Waits. Unfortunately, Winnerbäck evinces little personality of his own on these pleasant enough but generally forgettable songs, giving the listener little reason not to simply go back to their old Pogues and Tom Waits albums.
