简介: October 14, 2014— Santa Monica, CA — London’s Wolf Gang have announced that they will release their second album, entitled Alveron, on October 21st on Cherrytree/Interscope Records. Alveron was produced by Grammy and BRIT Award-winning producer Flood, who is known for his work with U2, Nine Inch Nails, PJ Harvey, and many others. The album’s first single, “Lay Your Love Down” is currently available from all participating digital retailers. Watch the official video here.
“One of the things we’ve enjoyed most since Wolf Gang started has been the live element, going out on tour and performing,” says Wolf Gang leader Max McElligott. “Our live show really added another dimension to the first album – when we took those songs onstage and performed them we really enjoyed the in-the-moment feeling of the musicianship. We made a very clear decision when recording our second album to capture that raw energy; single takes of everyone in the room playing together, that type of thing. Everyone’s personality and style is embraced on the record. This is a real progression for us in that sense because it’s a full-bodied piece of work that reflects all our characters and emotions.” Check out a ‘making the album’ Alveron sessions clip HERE.
The band was initially formed as a solo project by London musician Max McElligott, but has since evolved into a full-on collaborative effort between its four members, Gavin Slater, James Wood, and Lasse Petersen. Wolf Gang’s debut, Suego Faults, produced by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, The Flaming Lips), came out 2011, a skillful and exciting reflection of McElligott’s musical sensibility. As the band toured extensively on the songs, playing with artists like Coldplay, The Killers, Florence + The Machine and The Naked and Famous, Wolf Gang transformed the songs into vibrant live collaborations, leading McElligott to officially make the band a four-piece. Inspired to work together, the musicians decamped to Berlin for a period in 2012 where McElligott’s historian father keeps a small flat. The idea was to write songs that fully encapsulated their live experience and contained the same sort of vibrant energy the band generates onstage.
Wolf Gang recently wrapped up the co-headlining “Cherrytree Presents” Tour, along with label mates Sir Sly and special guests Secret Someones. Fans who purchased the exclusive "Cherrytree Presents" Tour Bundle received a ticket to the show in their city, access to a special meet and greet with the artists, choice of early album pre-order by Sir Sly or Wolf Gang, instant MP3 downloads, and a limited-edition Cherrytree tour poster.
