Joseph Arthur is set to honor the late Lou Reed with a stripped-down acoustic album of covers titled Lou. The album touches on Reed’s catalog in the barest way possible, only allowing acoustic instruments—and no drums—to grace the arrangements. “The only way I know to give new life to something as rich with life as Lou’s songs and recordings is to go about them in a completely different way,” Arthur said in a Rolling Stone article.
