This Is Darin, the 1960 follow-up to the "Mack the Knife"/"Beyond the Sea" vehicle Thats All, finds those hit songs young, exciting Darin already slipping into nightclub jive. "Clementine" is some awful marriage of the old ballad and the Flamingo Hotel, while "Guys and Dolls" loses its sardonicism to the newly minted superstars straight-faced reading. However, those interested in a flashy time capsule with an admittedly great cover photo might dig this.
