简介: by Greg PratoThe majority of album buyers looking to pick up a George Lynch compilation will undoubtedly be expecting some of his renowned work with Dokken from the '80s to be included in such a set. While you get to sample Lynch's shredding six-string skills throughout 2007's Guitar Slinger, none of Dokken's hits are included. Sure, you get a few latter day Dokken recordings, but tracks such as "In My Dreams," "Tooth and Nail," and Lynch's trademark instrumental, "Mr. Scary," are nowhere to be found here. Instead, you get a healthy helping of cover songs Lynch has contributed to tribute albums (including Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" and Alice Cooper's "Billion Dollar Babies," among others), as well as probably the best-known track from his Lynch Mob era, "Wicked Sensation," plus such largely unknown Dokken tracks as "When the Good Die Young." If you already own a true Dokken best-of or a few of their better studio albums (Under Lock and Key, Back for the Attack), then Guitar Slinger could be worth inspecting.
