简介: Liam Gallagher is a singer and a songwriter who currently resides in the streets of Philadelphia, but soon hopes to occupy that space just inside your head. He has been writing and performing his original material since he was seventeen and at the age of twenty-three, he is ready to release his music to the world.
Liam's story begins with a random listen to his future guitar teacher (in spirit), Dave Matthews. Since that moment, he was hooked on the acoustic guitar. He strummed along and learned what he could, but it wasn't until a high school band competition that Liam realized what lay inside. During a rendition of Radiohead's Creep, Liam let loose a voice he had never heard before. "I realized then that my voice and my soul grew underneath the power of the stage lights. The person I wanted to be lay right underneath them as well." He hasn't looked back.
His songs have the homegrown sensibility of a folk song and the likeability of a good pop song. Liam understands the power of song to tell a personal story that everyone can relate to. After all, it isn't the songwriter that determines the meaning of a song. The ears that they fall upon have that responsibility. He has attempted to make his mark as a songwriter who writes about life and the struggles we all face. "I aim to inspire and in today's world, we could all use a little bit of hope."
Liam's journey continued during his travels to Australia and New Zealand. While abroad, he picked up the harmonica thinking that it would add a bit to his sound. His songbook grew along with his inspiration and his desire to share his music. After graduating from college in Buffalo, NY, Liam returned to Philadelphia with hopes of making a record.
In 2004, Liam teamed up with his brother to create something organic and born out of the love of music. Liam provided the songs, while Kevin produced, mixed, engineered and played multiple instruments. Pulling together as much money as they could, they constructed a miniature studio in the attic of their parents' house. The results are recorded in Liam's debut album, Written in Ink.
With the help of the record, Liam plans of touring as much as possible. He has already played at the acclaimed Grape Street Philadelphia as well as many local pubs and open mics. He even teamed up with the Philly Songwriters Project during their VOTE festival. Every road has a beginning and Liam is there now. Join him for the ride and see where it leads.
