简介: I have rarely enjoyed an album as much as I have listening to Ambient World. On a certain level perfection has been reached.
Disc 1:
"Acquiring Satellites" is at first haunting and poetic. "Gargouille" has many interesting sounds like the sound of doves taking flight. "Liquid Sky" is a world in tension and release. Branches bend, trees sway. "Shinkansen" moves at a faster pace like a Japanese bullet train. "By a Moving River" has a gentle flowing quality that quickly relaxes the mind. At times it sounds like a harp being played in a faraway galaxy. "Night Scape" takes over your mind in a gentle way and is relaxing and exciting all at the same time. It has mild hypnotic powers.
When listening to "Time Lapse" it is helpful to imagine that you have sunk to the bottom of the ocean and are hearing ocean songs. "Filter Sunrise" begins with a smooth static that intermingles with sounds of raindrops. It actually starts to sound like static raindrops are falling into puddles of sound. "Night Traveler" has some deeply sexy moments. I have a lot of thoughts about "Tokyo Rain." To me this is a very romantic interlude in which I imagine lovers kissing in the rain.
Disc 2:
The second disc introduces a much more mellow mood. On "Tunnels" the timing is impeccable and the mixing is dreamy. A liquid sensuality seems to permeate the entire song. "Water Birth" is at first a little heavy as pure washes of sound flow over you. By the end of this song it feels like your soul is vibrating at a different level. This song takes you into a deep immersion of sound and leaves you quiet and introspective.
"Off the Map" has a lot of static or at least it sounds like firecrackers that have just been lit. The percussion is very subtle on this track. "Star Fall" is a beautiful song with guitar and piano. "Oborozukiyo" is interesting as this song brings more clarity to the mind.
"Cloud Rider" is ethereal with ghostly voices calling from a great beyond. It is as if a faraway choir is moving through the sky, closer and closer. "Insomniax" is gentle and lulls you into a state of peaceful resignation. "Collective Dream" is moody and sort of wakes you up out of your musical dream. "The Last Train" brings you back to reality with melodious ecstasy. You won't want this album to end.
Each track on this album plays long enough to leave you saturated in sound but eager for more. This music also promotes gorgeous landscapes in the mind. The otherworldly reverberations create music that is relaxing but keeps your full attention.
For the Ultimate Listening Experience I'd highly suggest you get some Sennheiser cordless headphones. Also, the two CDs (if you burn them) should be played one after the other for the deepest relaxation experience.
