简介: Award-winning New York singer-songwriter Andrew Vladeck teams up with Brooklyn band Balthrop, Alabama to knock this new holiday classic all the way to California. From the slush of a New York winter to the Santa Monica sunshine, here's a holiday wish any snowbound slob can relate to. "Letters to Santa Monica" is a follow-up release to the album "A Very Balthrop Christmas" (End Up Records). Who would think that a band named "Balthrop, Alabama" would call New York it's home, where they've been receiving love from The New Yorker to WNYC (Recent NPR Song of the Day and Video Premiere). Balthrop, Alabama is a giant collective of a band, founded by Alabama-born songwriter-siblings Pascal and Lauren Balthrop that walks the line between antebellum and anti folk. They also have been taking their town on the road: “Like a raucous ad-hoc town meeting where everyone brings an instrument to play.” (Future Montgomery) Voted NYC Artist of the Month in The Deli Magazine, Andrew Vladeck has recently won awards in the 2013 Independent Music Awards and Great American Song Contest. Look for his new record in 2014. The Village Voice has calls his performances "bold and brassy, nothing but fun." The L Magazine calls his music "the perfect blend of Midwestern thoughtfulness and New Yorker gruff." Vladeck is also a member of Balthrop, Alabama and The Honey Brothers.
