Covering everything from Johnny Mercer balladry ("Cocktails at Eight") to off-kilter pop ("Where's the Weekend"), the album's 22 songs span nearly every style of music without sounding forced or trite. Even more astonishing is the amount of great melody lines buried within the album's four sides. Muff Winwood's adept production is also able to keep what is a multitude of instruments (recorder, piano, accordion, guitar, banjo, etc.) from cluttering the arrangements.
