Jim Hunter is a singer songwriter who lives on the north -west coast of Scotland. 　　 　　Born in Edinburgh, Jim quickly traded the patriotic stirrings of the bagpipes for the more seductive influence of the Delta Blues. His self taught inimitable playing style led him to perform with a number of bands before striking out west to discover his own brand of celtic country blues. 　　 　　Based in Ardnamurachan on the west coast of Scotland , Jim has developed a style of writing and performing that despite his many influences still marks him out as a Highland musician. Touring and travelling throughout Scotland has provided Jim with a wealth of stories and "craic", which through his whisky soaked vocals, are distilled into his songs and performamnce. From the haunting power of his slow ballads to the dynamic force of his slide guitar rockers, his music is sung and played with great depth and passion. 　　 　　Though he has enjoyed the relative isolation of life in the Highlands, over the last four years he has expanded his audience and his reputation by touring frequently in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, both solo and with his band, "The Crack O Noon Club", a gathering of fine Scottish musicians.He has also performed with many people over the last ten years and toured with Runrig, The Waterboys, The Battlefield Band, The Rankin Family, Capercaillie and double billed with America's Kinky Friedman in Glasgow. 　　 　　From his first album "Burnt Out In The Snow" in 1988 to this his eighth release, the breadth of material in a Jim Hunter performance will find a home in most hearts.
