简介: The perfect gift for all ages, Sometimes the Pavement Sings is an absorbing collection of spoken short stories set during the Second World War. Through the eyes of a child we are drawn into a world where the family is the primary focus in an age of uncertainty, when self-reliance is essential. The rich, humorous narrative vividly depicts the characters and environment of a community beside Wellington Harbour, New Zealand. These are historically valuable insights that will warm the heart, while lifting the spirits, rekindling many a memory.
The author, Alwyn Lewis was born in New Zealand but has spent the major part of her life in Australia. She has written two books of poetry, fourteen plays and a novel, and is currently appearing in her own play Gert and Daisy. She recently composed the lyrics for all the material on the newly released CD A Sense of Wonder, also available from CD Baby, with music written by her husband Laurie, and currently resides in Victoria.
Laurie Lewis moved to Australia from New Zealand to further his musical career. He has composed, recorded and arranged music extensitvely for television, theatre, film and recordings.
