简介: After five years of writing, recording, performing, mixing and mastering, our epic journey In The Service of The Queen is finally complete. As with any worthwhile endeavor, we pushed ourselves musically, learning new instruments, creating complicated arrangements and trying unorthodox recording techniques. Many of these songs started as a drum pattern and guitar or simple piano track and the other parts were then layered on. Such is the challenge of recording over a long period of time and yet also the luxury provided by the digital age we live in. During this journey, our lives have been touched by good and evil, love and loss, hope and frustration. Hopefully this record will help folks feel the joy that life and love can bring. We feel it every time we perform and never take it for granted.
Some of these songs were influenced by people and events that affected us throughout the recording process. "Long Ride Home" was written in memory of Angela Todd who was called home to sing in the Lord's Choir well before her work here was done. Her positive attitude, love for life, and compassion for others were an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. "Together We" was written in honor of all the men and women who work and volunteer with the American Red Cross. Just as disaster can touch every one of us, they come to the rescue when we are in need. "Homecoming" was written in memory of Daniel Pearl who was a friend and fellow musician. He was a citizen of the World with a message of compassion and understanding for all of us. Liz Berlin captured the essence of this song perfectly - her vocals and production are AMAZING. "Never Leaving" is dedicated to the women who love and support us (and put up with late nights and long practices !).
Turn it up loud, roll down the windows and take that Long Ride Home !!
