Steed and Faith are married and known for their former band Park Avenue Music. Thomas Monson is a talented jazz drummer recruited by the couple for his ghost notes among other things. He also plays with the band Cake as well as other jazz, improv, and rock/pop artists. McIntyre also made an appearance on the previous album by Park Avenue Music, which evolved into the current improvisational trio hearts + horses. 　　 　　The sleeve of the original pressing of "the hearts + horses method" CD was printed on letter press in Sacramento and hand assembled with love by the band. The artwork was designed by another Sacramento artist, Asbestos Press.
