The Nocturnal Deity is a three part story that follows the twisted routine in a sort of day in the night with Gauge. An 18 year old lonely killer. He taunts police, stalks lovers and drives himself even more crazy with each passing moon. 　　 　　The first part of the story starts with a late night "attempted" double homicide (Intro.) A stolen car, a high speed car chase with the police and the killing of an office from a parked car (No Strays.) Gauge and his evil pride fleeing the scene while talking to himself with selfish pride (Hollow Sound.) Back at his resting place, a dilapidated old church. He prays to a statue of the virgin Mary each morning before the sun rises to cleanse himself of that nights sins (Teenage Heartache.) To his surprise when he opens his eye the statue is no longer there. He perceives this as a holy spirit and thinks twice about his actions (God Is Green.) He realizes that with each action there is a reaction, a consequence (Play With Fire.) Meanwhile on the local news is a report of seemingly senseless crimes. In bold letters the headlines are (Is America Ready.) On this day and before dawn Gauge decides to wash his hands clean of the violence and bloodshed. Out of the corner of his eye he notices something shining on the water in the distance. Suddenly all his shame, doubt and guilt are overshadowed. He watches closely as the orb floats closer towards him. He reaches down, picks it up and takes it home (I Finally Cried.) Gauge becomes in his own eyes self ordained and self proclaimed (The Nocturnal Deity.) He is now not only wanted by the authorities but by extra terrestrials as well. Feeling as though he had been lied to his whole life about the existence of aliens and the false pretenses of government politics he looks up and calls God the (Liar In The Sky.) Now on the run with his only friend a dimly lit flickering orb from outer space he has something to protect (Jeopardize My Love.) A series of senseless copy cat killings occur across the globe (All Around The World.) Alone in his dark corner of the world with the orb he looks closely at it and sees his own reflection (I Am You.) Neon blue lights shine through the stain glass of his bell tower nest. The orb lights up strong and his body begins to rise horizontal towards the ceiling (Light As A Feather.) He realizes that all of his pride had only got him this far and that what will come must go (Bleeds The Same.) Suddenly he sees a figure appear from the darkness. Blacker than black and with the density of smoke. No weapon could destroy this creature (Guns, Bombs & Blood.) As it came it went, void or sound, light in reverse. The orb was no longer there. Gauge sat there in the corner once again with curiosity in his eyes and heart (Always Alone.) All of those that had been influenced, inspired and frightened by Gauge are referred to as (Children Of The Gutta.)
