Subnormal

简介: My music is the culmination of the years I spent crawling through the darkness biting and scratching for any kind of hope for myself. I was taught growing up that everyone goes to work, comes home, feeds the kids, cleans the house and goes to bed.
For years I struggled by myself trying to hone my skills and slowly progress as a one man band with virtually no budget to actually acquire the gear most people think they need to record an album. It paid off, and after enough time had passed I finished my first album... Yet when I come out of my cave and gaze around I find a sea of musicians pandering to become one of the fake, bloated television idiots that are no more musicians than they are actors, playing their roles in the commercials for the products they are trying to sell.
What has music become? Is this it? Are the children of today destined to grow up considering music no more valuable than a meal at McDonald's? Will companies like Viacom convince everyone that music is supposed to be this nifty little package that all looks and sounds the same? If I want to get signed to a record deal do I send a demo, or a resume? The artist and the employee used to be different things.
I made 'Subnormal' using nothing but a budget studio mic, a decent guitar, a 1983 Yamaha DX7 keyboard, my computer, and years of practice. Other than that my current occupation is as a waiter.
