简介: After being a sideman on over 60 sessions ranging from Harry Connick, Jr, Bonerama, The New Orleans NightCrawlers, Tori Amos and the Neville Brothers to name a few, Craig decided it was time to put his own stamp on his first solo recording as a leader. "New Orleans Trombonisms" is a great showing of his funky New Orleans roots which are steeped in traditional jazz, brass bands and more of the funky stuff that happens every day in the Crecent City.
His three originals plus the arrangements on tunes like Bob Marley's "Redemption Song", a new song written by Harry Connick, Jr., "Light The Way" and some great standards like "Lady Be Good" and "Black & Tan Fantasy" make this recording something for everyone.
It has a great cast of musicians on it from Dave Bartholomew and John Boutte doing the old Vodoo song "Marie Laveau" to Leroy Jones on a couple. Gerald French on drums, Paul Longstreth on piano and Kerry Lewis on bass round out the funky New Orleans swinging rythmn section. Other guest include Cheif Smiley Ricks on congas and Mardi Gras indian vocals, Bert Cotton on guitar Tanio on bass drum and a hot young clarinet player Bruce Braeckmen.
Check this CD "New Orleans Trombonisms" out as it is destined to be a classic showing how the trombone is an instrument you should pay attention to. It can get funky, swinging or rocking all at the same time.
