The Stabsmusikkorps der Bundeswehr (staff band of the army) was created on February 16 th 1957 at Rheinbach near Bonn with 50 bandsmen. Their duties included playing alongside the Bundeswehr's Wachtbataillon Honour Guard in the new capital city of Bonn. For many years, the stabsmusikkorps was considered as the West Germany's most elite and accomplished military band. This album offers a selection of 24 old prussian marches recorded in 1961 and digitally re-mastered. We hope that you'll enjoy listening the stirring sound of the old Prussia marching music.
