Growing up in Dallas,TX, at the age of 5 Calvin Taylor discovered his love for music.Iin elementary school you could always hear Calvin singing throughout the hallways which earned him the privelage to sing the National Anthem as part of the morning announcements. Being raised around some of musics royalty, Calvin was groomed and destined for greatnees. Being the son of international gospel artist Benita Arterberry, who in 1984 was a contestant on Star Search, later being signed to SBK records along with Vanilla Ice. In 1990, she released her first debut album, which charted 1 overseas, also being called to sing on a track for Texas own UGK. Calvin Taylor, Singer, Songwriter, Entertainer, R&B Crooner will definately get your attention. With his southern drawl, and down south demeaner with the voice to match, can easily earn him in any womans play list. Calvin Taylor as a local artist has been performing in Dallas's music scene for over 15yrs and has written 3 independent albums music is nature. Being the grandson of The Late Great “The Whailer” Johnnie Taylor and having personal childhood relationships with music pioneers Yarbrough & Peoples, The Mac Band and Lakeside just to name a few. Music has become a way of life!!!! This talented gentlemen credits his musical influence to some of musics greats, past and present, for paving the way for his Dream. Putting out his first independent album titled Just A Piece in 2002, and with the awesome responses from listeners that experienced Just a Piece and what Calvin has to say, inspired the creations of two more independent albums R&B Love and Mixed Emotions. The response from gained fans was nothing more than confirmation that he will be named as one of R&B Greats following the footstpes of his mother and his grandfather.
