when I first heard that Kari Kimmel was going to do a dance/pop album, I didn't know what to expect. I have never heard a dancey-poppy song from Kari - I was interested to listen to the new sound of her songs & the overall results are absolutely wonderful! It's a breath of fresh air from all the great ballads she invents. This is by far my #1 favorite album from Kari Kimmel & she has proved to her fans that not only is she a master at making lovely ballad & mid-tempo songs, she's also successful in making uptempo, dance, pop songs! The album, to me, is about living in the moment & having fun in life! songs such as - "Go", "Any Better Than This", "Brand New Day", & "All Night Long" are songs that totally represents the feeling of putting on a smile, freedom, & being youthful. The song - "I Like It" has that upbeat country-pop, soulful feel to it & "So Bad" is definitely the perfect Kari Kimmel song to play at a club. There are 2 mid-tempo songs & "So In Love" is one of the stronger songs. Although I was expecting for no more than 2 slow songs on this 'happy' album, fans of Kari's lovely ballads can look forward to the 5 ballads. if you loved, "Dreamer" - you will fall in love with "Say Goodbye", which is one of the best ballads on this album, it is such a sad song about letting go & what's surprising about it is that there's a dark sound to it. It's the kind of ballad that has never been heard from her. "All the Way to the Fall" is a breakthrough ballad - it's about being yourself & letting every loved one in your life that you are still the same person and that you hope they still love you for the way you are born - a lot of people can relate to it! - it's heartbreaking when she sang the words, "I love you!" out loud on, "All the Way to the Fall". The best songs on this album are: "Go", "So In Love", "Brand New Day", "So Bad", "ALL THE WAY TO THE FALL", "All Night Long", & "Say Goodbye". The only song I am unsure of is "Didn't See This Coming", it's not a bad song, but it's a bit bland & feels out of place on this album - sounded like it belonged on the "Out of Focus" album. Overall - you can play the album in the shower, listen to it while you are driving, at the gym or having a party with your friends. Actually, take it everywhere with you because this album is AMAZING! & I understand that she can do whatever she wants, but I hope she continues to make upbeat songs - she's great!
