简介: In a time when popular artists are virtually indistinguishable, the world is introduced to a young girl who is about to change everything.... BÉLA, born into a Portuguese heritage was given a diary for her seventh birthday. Expression as she had known it, would never be the same. The self-described "loner" quickly became addicted to the release offered by a clean page and a sharp pencil. Soon after, she began adding melodies to parts of her diary entries with an old keyboard. Years later, she would take her personal songs to the local coffeehouse, performing every Sunday night. Following a year spent writing and performing in Europe, BÉLA wandered to Los Angeles where through her brother basilioFERNANDOferreira (Palmerston), she met Paul Andrews; formerly of Fat and Vixtrolla (Geffen, A&M) who produced some of her first-ever recorded music. In no time at all, through word of mouth alone; many people in Hollywood including producer/writer Tony Hodson (Andre 3000, Natasha Bedingfield), and even Canadian producer/music director Dean Jarvis (Nelly Furtado) were interested in meeting and working with the once unknown girl. By July 2005, BÉLA's demo cd was on high rotation on satellite radio station PulseNow!, after the station's president of A&R "fell in love with her sound". In Aug.'05, UK's infamous Rhythm Magazine wrote up a rave review on BÉLA's music, earning her much attention from Europe. Aug also marked the musical TV debut of the artist when she performed on LA Nitelife. Soonafter, BÉLA had the pleasure of making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. BÉLA's dream team recently expanded when she chose legal mastermind, Michael Guido (Velvet Revolver, The Killers) to represent her. BÉLA has just completed recording her much anticipated debut, "...the death of gypsyX"with producer Sir Dale Penner (Nickelback, Palmerston), mixed by Mike Fraser(Aerosmith,Metallica); mastered by Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins); featuring the programming of Jim Barr (Portishead, Peter Gabriel). It will be released to the world, spring 2007. Although BÉLA currently calls New York home, there is no telling where her love for music and performing will take her. Her powerful words and hypnotic stage presence will surely see no boundaries.
