简介: Biography
Annalee is the president and CEO of The Utah City Company, an emerging production and adventure company in Midway, Utah, which provides many services to the fine arts and the adventure of life. One of the main focuses of The Utah City Company is to promote Annalee as a performer, educator, and composer through Annalee Music, a division of The Utah City Company. She is involved with various performance ensembles, educational workshops, and private lessons.
On May 1, 2008, Annalee released her first album of original music entitled Sweet Jazz. It is a unique collection of jazz music that explores human emotion through her stylistic piano and her versatile, brilliant, velvety vocals using the medium of jazz, which developed from human emotion expressed through music. It is her beautiful styling and rich voice that attracted Dena "Ladybird Sunshine" Robins and Jimmy "Preacher" Robins, who invited Annalee to perform on Sunshine's New York television show, Crystal Stairs.
Annalee and her ensembles provide original jazz tunes and popular cover tunes from any genre including jazz, rock, country, and classical. She performs at private or public parties, night clubs, restaurants, social clubs, concerts, festivals, business conferences, weddings, or any place needing live music.
Annalee began training in classical piano at the age of ten and added classical vocal training before college in 1996. She earned a scholarship for musical performance at Utah Valley State College (UVSC) and performed in the A cappella and Chamber Choirs. As she studied at UVSC she had several opportunities to perform original piano and vocal compositions. After two years, she enrolled at the University of Utah where she continued studying classical music and performance. However, in the spring of 2002, Annalee decided that the classical direction was not fulfilling her desire to express music. She changed her direction from classical to jazz training. It was a difficult, yet successful transition and she felt that the emotion of jazz better expressed her own feelings as a musician. She completed a Bachelor of Music Degree in Jazz Composition with an emphasis in Choral Music Education in 2004.
Recognizing Annalee's potential in music, the University of Utah invited her into the graduate program in Instrumental Music Education where she continued her musical training, while becoming more diverse in music. She completed a Master of Music Degree in Instrumental Music Education with an emphasis in Jazz Composition in 2007.
Through Annalee Music, she educates musicians through private and public lessons in piano, voice, theory, and composition. Annalee is a member of the International Association for Jazz Education (IAJE), The National Association for Music Education (MENC), The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and is a certified educator through the Utah State Board of Education. Through Annalee's performances and workshops, she desires to impart experience, hope, appreciation, and understanding of music and fine arts.
