简介: Writer-Artist-Producer. After many years of involvement with the music industry, the name of Thurman L. Aldridge is beginning to buzz.......Aldridge is one of the original songwriters for ( A Taste Of Honey ),the 1978 Grammy award winner of Best New Group. The former writing partner of the groups co-founder Perry Kibble (deceased ), Aldridge has received recognition with helping the group get signed to the Capitol Records label by V.P. Larkin Arnold. Although the single (Boogie Oogie Oogie ) from the groups first album, charted at number one on the Billboard Charts, and catapulted them to world fame, it was the Aldridge/Kibble pinned song ( If We Loved ) that first caught the ears of Arnold and resulted in the group receiving their deal. Also a second song by Aldridge and Kibble titiled (World Spin ) was chosen for the flip side of the multi million selling single. Aldridge's newly released CD, produced under the banner of his World Spin Records,( My Sisters' Keeper ), consists of one song with a popping funky groove aimed at the danger involved in the practice of un-protected sex, titled (What You Might Catch ). It is a worthy public service message for the world, that is also offered with a danceable instrumental version. Also there are six versions of the feature song ( I Love You Black Girl ), which has three vocal and three instrumental renditions. This song delivers an endearing tribute to all Black women and his love for them, with a soulful,r&b, and jazzy/quasi rap. The accompanying instrumentals for each of them illuminates Aldridge's unique and demanding production style,as almost un-reproachable.This unusual format is brought to a visionary close with the riveting title track ( My Sisters' Keeper ), which keeps you hanging on till the very last note, wishing for even more. Co-written with Leroy(King) Kimbrough,a master musician in the disciplines of guitar, bass, drums, and keyboards, this project is the maiden voyage of a remarkable collabration of talents that provides an interesting hour of musical listening. Seemingingly, a new appellation will soon be added to Aldridge's name. Hit Maker. Indeed, it does sound like (THUR-MAN), Aldridge's stage name, has contracted a major case of Grammy fever. Check it out and form your own diagnosis. You may be well surprised....
