简介: Universal Blues is the the debut album by The Redwalls. Produced by The Redwalls, Mitch Marlow and Dan Dietrich. It was the first album recorded at what is now Wall To Wall Recorders in Chicago.
Universal Blues was first released on Undertow Records in 2003. Four years later, in 2007, the band rereleased it on Princeton Lane Records with six bonus tracks from early band demos.
This original demos for this album launched a major label bidding war over the band which eventually landed the group on Capitol Records. The Capitol deal was signed months before Universal Blues was released.
This album is a honest portrayal of The Redwalls at the start of their career. It is a sonically warm album that sounds as though it could have been made in the 60's or 70's. This young band unapologetically wore their influences on their sleeves and made a very unique record for the time. It still remains a fan favorite.
