简介: Four hot women who love to rock are slowly taking the world by storm, one by one! Brought together by circles of friends just jamming out, STUMP was born. The demand for just playing music for friends soon turned into local and regional shows and a very loyal following, known as the STUMP Army.
Lead singer Missy McGinnis (Missy Stump) has a powerful voice, soulful and sensual that can move into her belting out an intense line that you will definitely feel. Bass player Gina Roberts, otherwise known as Gina Bob Stump, grew up playing guitar and bass in church, her sound is morphing into a more funk rock style. Angel Jennings on guitar, a Knoxville star, has played many instruments since birth we think, she too started playing in church at the age of 5. On the drums, Jessica Gregory ( a.k.a Jess Stump), rocks it out with influences ranging from old school hip hop to punk and rock. Together they are the soul of STUMP. Their music has been described as rock, funk, and blues.
“We play together because it feels good, we just want to have fun with it and the music just comes through us naturally”
The CD “Travel With Me” starts off with a bang, 220 Socket was a Ramones inspired song, simple to the point with a lot of energy. “Chrome Cowgyrls” was a song written about a group of motorcycling women (The Chrome Cowgyrls) that like to shine their chrome, make a rumble and ride! ”Mercy” has a more pop sound, while “Get Dirty” is just a raw dirty little song about well, getting dirty.” Tough All Over” has a more Americana sound to it, and Stump thinks it should be used as a theme song in this unprecedented 2008 presidential race. Break my heart in a “Million Pieces”, a swinging blues tune. The title song “Travel With Me” (a quirky bit of Stump) is a perfect name for a group of songs that take you for a ride through rock, pop, and blues.
