Death Scenes

简介: This album was written to explore the theme of death and loss. Each track is the soundtrack to a specific moment. I invite you to imagine characters and settings that come to your mind as you listen to this music, as that is exactly what I did myself. Each track has a slightly different flavor to it but still form a whole. "I hope it feels like sleeping" is an ambient track of electronic noise and piano. "On a Wednesday" is also very ambient, but employs drums and guitar (and contains quite the aural shock about midway through). "Under the bridge, in the dark" is a dance-ready tune with a funky feel to it that, while remaining quite conventional, uses many experimental techniques in the recording of the electric guitar. "Leaving for Boston" is a very simple piece in comparison to the four that precede it. It is a recorded live performance of an acoustic/vocal song written for a lover moving away. Its live and natural feel directly contradicts the rest of the album in ways, yet compliments it in others. Finally, the track "Sorry I can't be there" is a requiem, written to be played at my funeral. This was an experiment that I intend to return to every year to see if it still holds relevance in my life. Tying all of these songs together is yet another story, told in the noisy and ambient filler that follows each song. In advance, thank you for reading and considering my work. I hope you can find as much self-knowledge from exploring the themes and textures in this album that I have. -Sunshine
