简介: ALBE MUSIC proudly announces the release of “Big Al Downing Live At XM Radio Washington, D.C.”.
The two CD set contains the Live Concert recorded at XM Radio on August 6th, 2003 and the interview with XM Radio's Country Dan Dixon recorded at the Country Music Hall of Fame on May 6th, 2005. “Big Al Downing Live At XM Radio Washington, D.C.” represents Big Al's first release of previously recorded but unreleased material since his death on July 4th, 2005.
Conceived and produced by Kurt Bamacher, the monumentally retrospective project brings together sixteen exquisite songs – each unique and justifying its own place in time, contributing to the wonderful feel and spirit of an album which shows the extraordinarily talented range of one of the most successful African-American artists in Country Music history.
Big Al Downing was a dynamic performer whose style, breadth, enthusiasm and spirit epitomize what fans truly look for in an entertainer. His performances lifted you up, drew you in, and made you feel as though he was playing just for you!
Best known for his hits, "Mr. Jones" and "Touch Me", as a recipient of Billboard's New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year Awards 1979, and a member of both the Rockabilly Hall of Fame and the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, Big Al Downing's five decade career was a proof of his versatility in country music history.
At the time of his death on July 4th, 2005, he had a number of projects he was working on and the ALBE Music team felt it was important to follow through and make those works available to his fans.
Big Al returns with Live At XM Radio Washington, D.C., his first release of previously recorded but unreleased material since his death. With this new album being released under CRAZY MUSIC, Big Al is entering yet another phase as a true country music legend.
The release embodies the very best of Big Al and country music and is the first release of Big Al's last interview recorded at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee prior to his death. This is music in conjunction with a live interview without boundaries.
His success and spirit ensured Big Al would remain very much an in-demand performer up to his death and inspired many of the songs recorded for Live At XM Radio, Washington, D.C. Highlights of the disc include:
"Did He Do It"
"I Never Told You That I Love You"
"Boll Wevil"
Big Al Downing has given his life to making great music and making people happy—this comes through in every song he‘s ever sang. „The rewards“, he said „have been many“.
