. KINDRED is a new brother-sister duo based in Texas with deep roots in the state of Oklahoma. Surrounded by great melodies, whether classics, country, jazz, show-tunes, R&B or pop, from birth Ross and Rebecca fell deeply in love with nearly all genres of music. 　　 　　Singing came naturally, and when Ross first picked up a guitar at age 8, the two started making music together. Their living room performances served to hone their sound, which is influenced by singers and songwriters like Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Sting, Michael Buble’ and David Foster. 　　 　　Always heavily involved in the fine arts, Rebecca and Ross have served in various Praise and Worship bands and have been featured in leading roles in dramatic and Musical Theater. 　　 　　KINDRED discovered new musical opportunities upon moving to Texas. Rebecca fulfilled a desire to compose by starting lyric writing courses through Boston’s Berklee School of Music, and Ross enrolled in a program to be tutored in vocal arrangements and performance. With Rebecca composing lyrics and Ross composing the music, KINDRED was prepared for their next musical chapter. 　　 　　The duo began working with The Collective Music Group, a Houston-based Fab Four ensemble of engineer, musicians, arrangers, and mentors. They are working with Kindred to perfect their sound and help them move toward a new level. Rebecca and Ross are currently working on their first EP at Wire Road Studios in the Houston Heights, to be released in the fall of 2016.
