Juan Muñoz launches his self-titled debut album that is created, composed, recorded and produced in Singapore. The Latin album is inspired by Juan’s troubled childhood, reflecting hardships faced until he experienced opportunities in Asia. 　　Born and raised in Medellin, Colombia during the reign of Pablo Escobar with guerilla armies and murders being the norm, Juan came from a low-income single-parent family. How he managed to become an accomplished musician is a bit of a miracle. 　　Juan began his love affair with music at age 16 as he accompanied his female cousin to guitar classes in order to keep her safe. He observed her class with no instrument, only practicing on his cousins’ guitar while he escorted her home. Juan showed the teacher what he had learnt from simply watching and practicing by himself, and impressed him so much that the teacher positioned Juan at the front- center of a recital. After witnessing Juan’s natural talent, Juan’s uncle bought him his first guitar as a birthday gift, and he has been making music ever since. 　　 　　The new songs on the album, “Juan Muñoz,” reflects his varied musical taste ranging from Latin, Soul, Pop, Funk, Rock, Electronica, Hip-Hop and Salsa, and all originate from his life experiences. 　　 　　Juan believes there's a song for everyone on his album and that each song has its own soul and feeling.
