The thing that any music lover listens for in jazz,it seems to me,is for the kind of music that moves one to return again to hear it. 　　 　　Not all music does this.not all pianists,for instance,no matter how great their technique nor how complex their melodic and harmonic ideas nor how adventuresome their concepts,can produce this kind of jazz. it is a special gift and it is no respecter of academies,of persons or of reputations. 　　 　　Vince Guaraldi can move me playing the piano. I have found this to be true over many years and even after the hundreds of times i have heard cast your fate to the wind that uniquely individual sound can still move me.
