简介: S.I.D. Need (formerly Jona Napier, of Litter Meet) makes her debut solo appearance as The I's in this blues inspired garage folk rock gem, Herbivore Blues. This record is a breath of fresh air in the age of digital effects, overdubs, and over production. The result of these 8-track recordings is just straight-up good songs with strong vocals and drumming that will knock yr...great granny's socks off . Need's voice ranges from a Joplin-like ballsy growl all the way to pretty and sweet. To back it all up is drummer extraordinaire, José Medeles (The Breeders), who shines when he should yet always complements the songs. This record will rock you hard, bum you out, bring you back up, and make you feel innocent again; all the signs of a good songwriter. And though the song styles greatly range from one track to the next, the record still manages to sound concise. Pure-Pop, garage rock, whatever you want to call it, it doesn't disappoint. If you like The White Stripes, Bright Eyes, The Velvet Underground, Buddy Holly, the blues, or just want a record that will make you feel something but still rock your pants off now and again, Herbivore Blues is it.
