The title "Law Of Love" must first be understood in its concept form, before how the album and its songs relate to it. The artist "Niko" has created a belief system based on one essential rule "Love". What exactly Love means in this theology, is anything natural ; or based off natural desires/instinct. So, "Naturally", track by track you are granted with what Niko feels natural about speaking on, or what moods the music is driven by. Inside the booklet comes a definition which includes a paragraph that has every song title woven in ; The album begins with "Move!" ; An upbeat, funky roots hip hop production that places you in front of a wall tagged in graffiti, accompanied by Niko's 90's Oakland Rap inspired lyrics. The following three tracks are similar in mood, he takes you from the Underground, through the Ghosts in the Basement, to the mountains on "Law Of Love" and lets it all be known by the first quarters end of the album. The mood then turns light as the bassline-driven "BoomBoXx" comes into play featuring Alicia Johnson, a song about the pressures young adults face including teen-pregnancy, suicide, and legal issues. The party rocks on through the obvious single "She's A Killer", a sure fire dance-floor jam, until the album highlight "Northern Lights" switches your perspective from "letting go" to "focus", with heart-felt lyrics and punishing honesty. The darkest song comes with "Opinions" where Niko holds nothing back, on a see-saw of destructive anger and conscious-realization. The last few songs tie the album together in harmonious static, "Cobra Clutch" bends racial and social standards on common misconceptions, "Lost, Still" shows a young man vulnerable to his decision-making skills and facing consequences ; and the album finale "Snow" is a farewell bid to the listener, giving them a rare inside-look into the mind of the man behind the curtain. Overall, personal moments are over-shadowed by social commentary, giving the listener less of Niko's world, and more of his position and standpoint from inside the world we live in. Production includes knockin' kick drums, organically programmed instruments & groovy basslines that compliment the chorus best, and are stripped leaving enough space for Niko's messages to come through. And albeit being ADD-conscious, for the most part, he manages to demonstrate successfully what the Law Of Love represents.
