简介: Le Plaisir (1990) The piano piece “Le Plasir” was composed in 1990. It explores the internal beauty of sound, which is produced here as part of the relative harmonic series in music. Les Rivales (1984-1986) The piano suite, “Les Rivales” was composed between 1984 and 1986. It consists of fourteen harmonically connected movements conveying musical dialogues and playful games between opposite hands. The main idea in each of the fourteen piano pieces was inspired by various chess strategies. A predetermined rhythm, pitch, velocity and tempo were given to each note creating a unique game of musical structures. Thèse, Antithèse, Synthèse (1991) The three sections of this piece explore the “spectrality” of the piano timbre, starting from the depths of the low C and moving, through strategic derivations (Gambit Evans), toward E resonance (Défense française) to find, in the end, after many episodes, a decisive anchor in the D spectrum.By the end of this methodical journey, the performer has progressively appropriated the entire territory of the keyboard. This piece is also based on chess game strategies.
