Dave Harris – vocals/guitar/harp/fiddle
Dave has spent most of his 40 year music career busking the streets of Victoria, first as a stand-up singer/guitar/rack harp player, then in various groups, often playing fiddle and mandolin and finally as a one-man-band. Dave has played many festivals and shared stages with roots acts such as Big Dave McLean, Ken Hamm, Rick Bockner, Tim Williams, Michael Jerome Browne, Freddie Roulette, Marcia Ball, Roy Forbes, David Essig and others. Dave is innovative, playing fiddle or slide guitar with rack harp (amplified) together live. One of his biggest achievements has been writing the first major book on one man bands called “Head, Hands & Feet”. His years as a one man band have also coloured his style with much country, acoustic and Delta blues in the mix too.
John R Hunter – drums/vocals
John has a long history in blues music dating back to an early 70s trip to Chicago where he stayed at Homesick James’ house and met other Chicago stalwarts such as Floyd Jones, Carey Bell and more. His credentials are top-notch, with much of the 70s spent in the legendary Thunderbird Blues Band in Vancouver. Artists that Thunderbird backed include John Lee Hooker, James Cotton, Albert Collins, Sunnyland Slim and Buster Benton. In the 80-90s John played with numerous hometown Edmonton bands including shows with Pinetop Perkins and a young Colin James. Since moving to the island in 05 John has worked most notably with Bill Johnson (Juno nominated cd “Still Blue”), Harpdog Brown (WCMA nominated cd “What it is”), Jason Buie (2017 cd “Drifting Heart”) and Jimmie D Lane. John has become a popular songwriting collaborator with these artists as well as on his own. John’s style of drumming is no-nonsense, a “less is more” approach, influenced by Charlie Watts, Fred Below and other classic blues drummers.
George Fenn – bass/backing vocals
George is a product of the fertile Winnipeg blues scene where he played bass with the legendary Crooked Billet Blues Band which featured Gary Preston on keys and Dave Mowat on harp. They often backed Big Dave McLean and Brent Parkin and opened shows for Colin James and Ellen McIlwaine. In Victoria, George worked with Dave in Davelectro & the G-Men and joined John backing Harpdog Brown, Jason Buie and Bill Johnson. George plays a rock solid style and holds things down superbly.
