简介: ‘Patterns’ is a testament to a complete DIY approach to music making. Leaning on his experience of building sites as an apprentice prior to his career in music, Daniel built the recording studio, from which he wrote, produced, and mixed the entire album alone.
The album is named ‘Patterns’ for good reason. The lyrical subject matter of these literate, melodic songs center around patterns of all forms. Familial patterns (‘History’, ‘Through The Night’); psychological patterns (‘The Morning’s Never New’’, ‘Things We Have In Common’) the changing patterns of relationships (‘The Melody’).
Nowhere are these reflective themes more potent than on the album’s catalyst single ‘History’; itself inspired by the re-discovery of an old box of 1980’s VHS home videos which feature in the song’s stunning video and the album artwork. You can watch the video HERE
Anderson’s carefully crafted material accomplishes the rare feat of conveying classic pop melodies with contemplative, personal sentiments, lending a unique texture to a timeless sounding record.
It may be one of the most DIY albums ever made… but it doesn’t sound like it.
