The self-penned, gospel-tinged Pop (dance/urban) hit, “Peace” was the first release from Johnston’s debut album Peace in 1992 with lead single, "Peace", reaching the Top 10 in the UK. Further singles "Friendship", and "I Wanna Sing" followed with positive reactions on Billboard’s Top 100 and the Dance/Club followers and fan-base. A second album, Sabrina, was released in Japan only in 1996 and again in 1998 under the title Yum Yum which brought on the release of the single "Reasons". Johnston made an appearance as a backing vocalist on Lauryn Hill's "To Zion", from the Grammy Winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.
Johnston has been a “Hot Pick” with many Grammy Award Winning Producers, such as Frankie Knuckles, Jerome Farley, Jr Vasquez, and Brothers In Rhythm.
