简介: Just Kickin It the debut CD from New York City based bassist, keyboardist, composer/arranger/producer GMoney fuses smooth, jazzy and funky basslines and keyboard melodies and harmonies, layered over cutting edge hip-hop and R&B infused drums. Add to this funky horn riffs from trombone player, Mike Gray, smooth guitar licks from Carlos Perez Jr., and hot conga beats from percussionist Mike Fraizer, and you have the "GMoney sound", a fusion from the worlds of smooth and funk jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and dance music. As GMoney puts it, "when I compose a new track, I dont think about generes, my only concern is: does it sound like GMoney, and can the groove "move the soul" As seen by the following comments, GMoney certainly has the right groove to "move the soul"
The tracks are coming out great! Keep up the good work.

GMoney's musical bio, is as intresting and unique as his style of "smooth jazz". "Not having a 'formal' music education, and being self taught, I started composing tracks about 5 years ago, initally to write background soundtracks for websites, and to add what I call "bewteen mix" keyboard and drum phrases to "spice" up my dance mixtapes, as I had spent 25 years as a DJ, and was looking to make my mixtapes more orginal and unique. Well 3 to 4 months into early 2004, I had composed 4 complete dance tracks in my home based studio. Since that time I have honed my skills as a keyboardist and bassist doing studio work, production work, and to fill in the "bass chair" on a guest basis for some local groups". The inspiration for my music comes from a jazz background, as my mother was singing jazz professionally since the age of 9. Yet I also grew up listening to the sounds of 80's and 90's funk, classic Motown, R&B, old school and new school hip hop and pop rock. My compositions represents all of those musical influnences. My music is composed to be "pro-active" that is the end listener is free to form their own thoughts and feelings of the music, based on how the music affects them. My debut CD 'Just Kickin It' is a reflection of my life's travels and experiences over the past 2 years. Currently rehersing with his newly formed band "The GMoney Project", the band plans to take to the road this summer in support of the new CD.
Some of GMoney's bass influnces include: Marcus Miller and Wayman Tinsdale (Jazz and R&B), Hub (of the Roots...Hip/Hop) and James Jamerson (Motown Soul). Some of GMoney's keyboard influnces are: Alicia Keys, Herbie Hancock, and Rob DeBoer (of four80east)
"This debut CD 'Just Kickin It' is just the first of many planned CD's."
