简介: Heyday (from Edinburgh) were a band in Edinburgh in 1984/5. The band was formed by singer/songwriter Stephen Harrison who had been Metropak which was a post punk band in Edinburgh that released three singles. Also in Heyday were Ronnie Torrance and David Weddell, who had previously been in Edinburgh band Josef K, where they played Drums and Bass. Also in Heyday was Bill Ayton who played keyboards. Robert Russell joined as second guitarist after these particular recordings were made. Since the mid 1980's, several other bands have been called Heyday, and so to avoid confusion, the words 'from Edinburgh' have been added here to the name of the band. The band was known as Heyday at the time of its existence.
The songs were written by Stephen Harrison, who was also the vocalist in the band. Heyday played numerous venues in and around Edinburgh. No recorded product was made commercially available at the time, although a couple of these recordings of the songs were played on Radio Forth.
