简介: I know I'm from Motown, but my music is a blend of those soulful sounds combined with pop, jazz and folk. You'll probably like my music if you're a fan of witty lyrics and playful harmonies and indie singer/songwriters. I'm 18 (don't let that scare you!), but I like to think I'm an “old soul."
My biggest musical influences are Ingrid Michaelson, Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Amy Winehouse and Ella Fitzgerald. I play piano, ukulele and guitar, and this EP, "Over the Weather.," showcases my work on all those instruments. Most of it was produced by Andrew Williams, who also helped produce albums for Colbie Callait and Five For Fighting.
I released my first full album, “Yes. No. Maybe So.,” in April, 2013, and was really astonished and grateful for the positive response. The album is a finalist in the Detroit Music Awards "2014 Best Acoustic/Folk Recording," and I'm also a finalist for "Best Acoustic/Folk Vocalist." My original, “Screw Valentine’s Day,” won the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting “Love Songs” Contest, and my songs have been chosen for play at Kohl’s and Forever 21 stores.
I hope you enjoy what you hear. I'm always open to your comments and reviews. Let me know what you think! Check me out at www.oliviamillerschin.com and on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram!!!! WHEW!!
