简介: This isn’t so much an album as it is a memoir of experiences, emotions, and metaphysical ideals that have led up to this very moment in time. When I wrote many of these it was primarily for my own creative or emotional endeavors; I hadn’t intended on making a record when I started recording this material. In fact, I hadn’t intended on really “sharing” these songs with anyone at all (save a few tracks which may have had an intended audience of one). At some point on my journey I began writing and singing with an approach I hadn’t quite understood before. It soon became evident that I should compile these orphan-songs into a catalog I could call an album with some degree of satisfaction. If music is purely about emotional expression through the use of sound, then for me there is no truer music than what is on this disc. Some of the songs are old and some of them are new, but they all mark some kind of moment in my own personal evolution. I hope these songs will make you think, feel, and/or wonder but above all, I hope that in listening you might realize that you and I have shared the same emotion at one point or another in our lives and in some way that connects us on a remarkably profound level; even if we never speak or sit down and chat over a cup of coffee.
See you onstage,
Kev
There are a number of people who made this record possible through contributions they may not even be aware of. Specifically, I need to thank the two musicians who helped me take it live: Ron Pacheco Jr. on bass and Adam Chamberlain on the drums. The remaining list is far too long to print, but I’m certain these individuals know who they are, even if they don’t know what they did. The ultimate shout of gratitude goes to you, the listener, for giving music its true purpose: to be shared. If a record plays in a forest and no one is around to hear it, who cares if it’s playing at all? This recording is dedicated to anyone who has ever stared a logical decision in the face and chosen the path that is truer to their heart in spite of what made the most “sense.” I’m one of you.
