I had always wanted to do a more raw and aggressive project that was different from the futuristic imagery and lyrical content of Malintent - born was Secularthreat. I met Ozz in 2001 and we worked on material furiously while looking for that third person. Several months later, thoroughly frustrated, I asked Matt from Malintent if he would handle the bass duties while we continued our search for a permanent member. Unfortunately things with Matt fizzled out before we could play any shows. Ozz moved earlier 2003 just after we recorded nine songs.
