简介: MARTIN MOLLOY is a singer/songwriter who hails from the west of Ireland, having played for the last 10 years in Europe, decided to return to his Native Land to write and record his debut CD.The songs are reflections on a changing Ireland, and deals with issues such as Materialism, Consumerism, religious hypocrocy, emerging racism and celebrity obsession.
The songs are also a reflection on the inequality and shallowness of life in 21st century Ireland. A cry for the Disaffected and Forgotton. The style is a mixture of Accustic Blues and Contempoary Folk, with sparse harmonies and solo vocals yelling out for an sympathetic ear.
The artist has lived and played in Paris, Spain,Germany, Netherlands, Scotland and london. Having become disillusioned with the romantic notions of the solo artist rambling around Europe, he ran out of money and patients with loud smoke filled cafes and dives and took the last road back to his land of Ire. On returning he was shocked to see the changes that had taken place. Ireland had turned into middle-class USA.
He now lives up the coast in County Clare with his Labrador dog and plays in various bars and clubs on the "bread n butter" circut.
