简介: He was born Ira Chatmon, on the 5th day of September 1976, in Fredricksburg, VA. Being brought up in a military family allowed him exposure to myriad places and experiences. Spending a great deal of his childhood on the mean streets of South East D.C (Washington), he understood, firsthand, the real meaning of what pain is. At the young age of 13, his father tragically died in a car accident, forcing them to relocate to Ocala, FL in hopes of picking up the pieces and rebuilding the family. Fortunately, it worked.
While residing in Ocala, I-C began to discover his most valuable gift. Of Course, that gift is spitting rhymes. He would do whatever it took, in order to get on the mic and show his skills. By the time he turned 14, he was hanging out in recording studios in an attempt to get a good grasp on what it really takes to become a rap artist.
One day while recording at Titan Studio he got to know the owner, John Browning, and the rest is history. John took I-C under his wing and worked with him, schooling him in all aspects of the game of music; yet allowing him to remain true to his style.
I-C has shared the stage as an opening act for artists’ such as Trick Daddy, Trina, Cash Money Millionaires, Mystikal,Mos Def, The Roots, Eryka Baduh and Tony Touch. He has also headlined shows himself in Orlando, Tampa, and Jacksonville Fl. I-C has also won several freestyle battles and has won several trophies for doing so. He is currently working on his 2nd album. The first since his debut, which was released independently back in 2001. “I write and compose from my past and present experiences. I have to be true to myself in order to write the way that I do,” he says. I-C writes
